From the investment bank to the Élysée Palace: The origins of Emmanuel Macron

Emmanuel Macron is the current president of the French Republic, elected in 2017. He became the youngest president in French history and has been praised for his European vision and economic reforms.

However, he is also one of the most controversial presidents in recent French history, with strong political and social opposition to his government.

Emmanuel Macron's origins are a subject of interest to many, as he has had a rapid rise in the political world.

Born in 1977 in Amiens, he grew up in a family of doctors and studied at the École nationale d'administration (ENA), a prestigious school that trains France's top civil servants. After ENA, he worked for the investment bank Rothschild & Cie, where he rose to become a managing partner.

In 2012, Emmanuel Macron was appointed deputy secretary general of the Élysée Palace under President François Hollande, where he worked on economic and financial issues. In 2014, he was appointed Minister of Economy, Industry and Digital under the government of Manuel Valls, where he launched a series of controversial economic reforms, including the liberalization of regulated professions and labor law reform.

In 2016, Emmanuel Macron resigned as minister to focus on creating his own political party, En Marche! which was launched in April of that year. His presidential campaign was marked by strong opposition, but he ultimately won the 2017 presidential election by defeating National Front candidate Marine Le Pen in the second round.

Emmanuel Macron's political background is also interesting, as he positions himself as a progressive centrist who seeks to transcend traditional left-right divisions. He was a member of the Socialist Party for a few years before leaving the party in 2009 to join the public administration.

His party, En Marche!, positions itself as a transparent movement that wants to bring together people from different political backgrounds to work together.

In conclusion, Emmanuel Macron is a politician who has experienced a rapid rise in the French political world. His origins in a family of doctors, his course at ENA and his career at the investment bank Rothschild & Cie have shaped his economic and financial vision. His experience at the Élysée Palace and the Ministry of the Economy set the stage for his successful presidential campaign in 2017, where he founded his own political party, En Marche! Despite his electoral success, he remains a controversial president in France, with strong political and social opposition to his government.
