Millions of lives under threat in Ukraine in this winter. Half of Ukrainians energy infrastrature is damaged or destroyed and 10 million are staying without power .because the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant which used to produce more than 25%of Ukrainians electricity, no longer generate power . The WHO has documented 703 attacks on health infrastrature since Russia s invasion began.
Last week, Russia hit more energy installments and civilian buildings in one of its heaviest aerial of the war. This has been a resent Russian tactic on the battlefield, with the winter season. Ukrainians health system is facing to its darkest days in the war so far. Hundreds of hospitals, healthcare facilities were no longer fully operational ,lack of fuel. and lack of water and electricity to meet as their basic needs.
The WHO defines an attack as involving violence, as well as threatened violence against hospitals and ambulances .Up to 3 million people could flee their homes in search of warmth and safety with this situation. There are also concers about Covid cases. with low vaccination, and millions of Ukrainians have no immunity against Covid. In Kyiv, snow covers with walkways, empty playgrounds and few people are on the road. Russia and Ukraine have accused each other of carrying out of the attcks.
