Yesterday, Thursday, February 10, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, candidate of the France Insoumise (far-left movement) for the 2022 presidential election, was the first guest on the program "Élysée 2022". This program proposed by the television channel France 2 aims, between now and the election in April, to interview all the candidates for this election and to scrutinize their program. The first candidate to be interviewed was Jean-Luc Mélenchon yesterday. And, according to the observations of citizens and public figures, the outcome of this evening was rather positive for Mélenchon.
Indeed, according to the president of the MEDEF (French employers' union), the exchanges were constructive and he even judged that Mélenchon was not in excess unlike other figures of the extreme left. Several representatives of associations, NGOs or feminist and environmentalist struggles, etc. found Mélenchon "good" and capable of ambassadorial work for these political trends. Also, for many of the French people interviewed by Ipsos for the program, the candidate of France Insoumise would have been "calm", "convincing", "clear" or "coherent".
So, we can easily say that it is a nice victory for the beginning of the official campaign for the candidate Mélenchon but the fact that this impulse continues remains to be proven...
